TAMPA - Heat indexes could reach 105 to 110 degrees in some parts of Florida this week, and emergency managers are warning people about how to handle the soaring temperatures.
It's important to drink plenty of fluids and avoid long hours in the sun.
You should wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and maybe even a hat or use an umbrella.
Be a good neighbor and check in on elderly people nearby and people who don't have air conditioning.
Don't forget your pets. Make sure they have water and shade.
