Woman killed in wrong way crash

RIVERVIEW - A woman was killed in a head-on collision on Big Bend Rd. late Saturday night.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says Karen Weaver, 47, of Riverview, was killed when a pick-up truck going the wrong way slammed into her Jeep just east of Heritage Greens Parkway.

Deputies say the driver of the pick-up truck, 35-year-old Paul Parks of Lithia, was driving eastbound in the westbound lane of Big Bend Road when he collided with Weaver around 11:30 p.m. Parks was taken to Tampa General Hospital with incapacitating injuries and is listed in stable condition.

According to deputies, after the two vehicles collided they both hit another car, driven by Michael Toolan, 47, also of Riverview. Toolan was not injured in the crash.

Traffic Homicide detectives are still investigating the crash and have not yet filed any charges.
