Photo sharing site leads to child porn arrest

SARASOTA - A 31-year-old Sarasota County man faces 10 counts of possession of child pornography after investigators said he uploaded images to a popular photograph sharing website.

Deputies arrested Ryan Ladd of Osprey Tuesday.

According to the sheriff's office, the investigation began in September when Photobucket.com submitted information to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children's CyberTipline.

Deputies said when they searched Ladd's computer and portable hard drive at his home, in the 100 block of Patterson Avenue, they found multiple child pornography images and movies.

According to detectives, they also found Ladd uploaded 12 images of child pornography to a the publically accessed website, six of which portrayed sexual battery.

Ladd also faces one count of count of promoting a sexual performance by a child.

He's being held at the Sarasota County jail on $12,500 bond, jail records show.

Detectives said the case is still under investigation.
