Apparent double-homicide in Manatee

BRADENTON - Detectives in Manatee County are investigating a double homicide.

It was around 9:20 p.m. when a 911 call reported gunfire and possible victims in the 1100 block of 59th Avenue Drive E. When deputies arrived, they found two Hispanic men lying in the road, unresponsive.

One of the men was pronounced dead at the scene; the other was taken to a hospital where he, too, was pronounced dead.

Detectives and crime scene technicians were still looking for clues late Friday night.

The names of the victims had not yet been released.
