BARTOW - The last of the Polk County teens involved in that videotaped beating received her sentence.

Britanni Hardcastle, who is now three months pregnant, could have got up to five months in jail.

Instead, a judge sentenced her to fifteen days in jail minus time served, and three years probation.

After Hardcastle gets credit for time served, she will actually be in jail for five days.

Backed by a courtroom full of friends and family members, Hardcastle apologized.

“I am very sorry for what I did and nothing will ever excuse it. Me and her didn’t get along, but she didn’t deserve what she got,” said Hardcastle before the sentence was handed down.

Hardcastle is the only teen who was sentenced to time behind bars. Four other teens got probation.

On the video, Hardcastle is seen throwing the most punches at the victim, Victoria Lindsay.

Lindsay was not in court, but her mother and younger sister were.

“I don’t know where that anger came from, but I can’t imagine Victoria doing something to make you that angry,” said Telissa Lindsay, the victim’s mother.

Outside the courtroom, Lindsay would not comment on the sentence.

Neither would Hardcastle’s supporters.

They left quickly without talking to reporters.
