WAUCHULA - One of Michael Jackson's most famous former pets now lives right here in the Bay Area.
"Bubbles" the chimp has lived at the Center for Great Apes in Wauchula since 2005.
Jackson got the chimpanzee as a baby, but he ended up back with a trainer as he got bigger and stronger. He eventually ended up at the sanctuary.
The center released a statement today saying Jackson had expressed interest in visiting Bubbles, but it never worked out.
They also don't know if Jackson's will provides any support for bubbles, who is now 26 years old.
The sanctuary relies entirely on donations to care for the 42
apes that live there.
