College combines Skype with phone booth

What Webber International University in South Polk County is offering may be just what you're looking for.

It's president, Dr. Keith Wade, is auctioning off the advertising rights on a new phone booth the school just got. Not just any phone booth -- a one of a kind phone booth where students can make free calls to anywhere in the world because it has Skype.

The "phone booth" is a godsend for Webber's students.

"I love it," said Gustaf Hydbol, who is from Sweden. "It gives international students a chance to talk to our parents. Otherwise, it would cost a fortune."

Wade is hoping the auction helps at least pay for the purchase of the phone booth and installation of the computer system in it, which ran several thousand dollars.

Late Thursday, the highest bid was about $100. The auction ends Friday afternoon. For more information, go to www.webber.edu.
