LAKELAND - Just days after the funeral of murdered lottery winner Abraham Shakespeare, detectives descended on his former North Lakeland home looking for evidence.

The home is now owned by Dee Dee Moore, who is in jail, accused of covering up Shakespeare's murder.

Polk and Hillsborough County detectives were in the house on Red Hawk Bend Drive for most of the day on Monday. Although investigators can't discuss what they came up with, the sheriff's office said detectives were looking for financial records, computers and documents -- any evidence that could be helpful in their case against Moore.

They say just six weeks after meeting Shakespeare, Moore ended up with his home in a gated community and cash, and they want to know why.

Moore has been charged as an accessory to Shakespeare's murder, but no one has been charged with his murder yet. But what they might find in the house could help them with that part of the case.
