BARTOW - Two men have been sentenced to life in prison for the slaying of 17-year-old central Florida girl. A Polk County judge sentenced 33-year-old Gary Michael Glisson Jr. and 23-year-old Eric Rodriguez on Wednesday. They had both been found guilty at separate trials of robbing and killing the former Haines City High School cheerleader.

The juries had recommended death for both men, but prosecutors agreed to waive the death penalty to avoid a defense request for a new trial in Glisson's case.

Investigators say Glisson, Rodriguez, and a third man, 26-year-old Jarvis Mosley, lured Angelia Headrick to an apartment in January 2007, robbed her, killed her, left her body in the trunk of a car and set it on fire.

Mosley previously accepted a plea deal for 15 years in prison.
