EAGLE LAKE - You may be getting older, but everyone sees double at Pinewood Elementary in Eagle Lake.
That's because 11 sets of twins go to school there. If you're keeping count, there are seven fraternal, and four identical.
It's the identical ones that can be the trickest.
"Sometimes one of them will go into the bathroom and say they are the other one. That kind of thing," said Pinewood's principal, Brenda Johnson.
"You kinda lose track of them?" we asked.
"Some of the teachers do, but we get them back," she said jokingly.
It appears that Pinewood holds the Polk County record for the
greatest number of twins at one school. But nothing lasts forever.
It may be broken soon. Two more families with twins are talking
about sending their kids to Pinewood next year.
