Voters to elect St. Pete's new mayor

ST. PETERSBURG - Will it be Kathleen Ford or Bill Foster? Voters head to the polls today to elect St. Petersburg's next mayor.

Ford and Foster— both lawyers, life-long residents of St. Pete and former city council members— are making the last minute push for votes .

Foster said he plans to vote at his local precinct at noon. Ford said she has already voted using an absentee ballot.

St. Petersburg voters will also be electing council members for districts 2, 4, 5, 6 and 8 along with two charter amendments.

Largo is also holding a municipal election today with city commission seat 3 up for grabs and a charter amendment on the ballot.

Voters in St. Pete Beach are set to weigh in on two charter amendments and two referendum questions.
