Boy, found wandering, back with family

SEMINOLE - The mysterious boy who turned up on a Seminole doorstep has been reunited with his family.

It was just before 9 a.m. when a homeowner in the 8400 block of Lantana Drive told deputies the boy came up to his front door and opened it.

David Parrish, 27, said when he tried to close the door, which was only secured with a chain, he saw the child's arm coming through. Parrish opened the door and called the sheriff's office.

It turns out the boy -- identified by investigators as a 2½-year-old named Marcus -- was on vacation with his family at his grandfather's nearby home.

The boy's mother told deputies that she woke up and discovered Marcus was not inside. When she went outside to look for him, she saw a group of reporters at Parrish's home.

Deputies were then able to reunite Marcus with his mother. They are still investigating.
