Porsche hits pedestrian on Ulmerton

CLEARWATER - One person was hurt trying to cross a busy Pinellas County road late Wednesday.

It happened on Ulmerton Road, near 38th Street N in Clearwater.

The Florida Highway Patrol says the victim was on the side of the road with some friends. But when the man started to cross the road, he paused and was hit by an oncoming Porsche.

The victim, whom troopers could not immediately identify, was last reported in critical condition at Bayfront Medical Center.

There's no word yet if any charges will be filed against the driver.
