CLEARWATER - Two members of a Jackson, Mississippi family say they were also injured when a parasail dragged one of its passengers across Clearwater Beach.
Christopher Goodman, his fiance, Holly Bridgeman and their five boys were getting ready to leave the beach because of an approaching storm.
By telephone, he told FOX 13 News he looked up just as the parasail was flying across the beach.
"When I turned around to look at Holly, I actually saw one of the lines hit Holly in the back of the legs, around her ankle, and that's when she flew up in the air," Goodman said.
Goodman claims Bridgeman now has chest, back and neck pain.
He also said 4-year old Caden Bridgeman was dragged by the parasailor until she crashed into a pole.
"A man walked up to me and said he actually rode the ride, that it did drag him all the way to the pole," Goodman said.
The child was not seriously injured. Goodman provided a photo of the five boys taken minutes before the crash. The parasail, still well aloft, can be seen behind them.
Clearwater police confirm the Mississippi residents were treated for injuries at the scene.
Most of the attention, though, has been focused on Alejandra White, the passenger who was dragged across the beach after the parasail separated from the tow boat. She remains in critical condition at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg.
