After spending the last 7 months in a hospital a Bay Area teen is back home with his family.

Deputies say Andrew Hall was struck by a reckless driver while standing outside his apartment.

After numerous surgeries and countless hours of rehabilitation, Hall was wheeled out of Bayfront Medical Center Sunday.

Hall came out of the hospital with a big smile. After 7 months of rehabilitation he’s finally moving on.

“It’s been an unbelievable ride. It’s been an incredible experience. In some ways it’s been fun, it’s been scary. But I’m still standing,” said Hall.

Some may say it’s a miracle he’s alive. A car slammed into Hall as he was standing in front of his apartment on Main Street in Safety Harbor back in April. His leg was severed, his pelvis was broken and his lungs had collapsed.

The 19-year-old almost died.

“The hardest thing this has and it will affect my life forever. Swallowing that fact and still trying to digest it day by day at times,” said Hall.

But now, he has a lot to look forward to. After a short drive from the hospital he arrived home.

“It’s good to be home. It’s good to be where I want to be with my dad and be back with family. And start life all over again,” said Hall.

Hall is a fighter. Before this incident, he struggled with cerebral palsy. Walking was a challenge he overcame. Now he has new challenges.

“We still have a long way to go. If people thought it was hard in the hospital. The hospitalization part is over. But it’s all up hill from here,” said Hall.

He says he’ll start with a list of 100 things he wants to do before he dies. Hall plans to achieve each one of them.

“Get married, have kids, because I love kids. I love my adopted brother and sister, I love kids to death. So I want to have five of them, said Hall.

FOX 13’s Alcides Segui asked him, “You have a hundred things to do on that list. Do you think you’ll be able to get to all of them?”

Hall said, “Why not. Hey if you shot for the stars you’ll end up on the moon so.”

Deputies say Joshua West slammed into Andrew Hall. He’s charged with reckless driving and also faces drug charges.
