ST. PETERSBURG - A 10-year-old boy is in critical condition after police say he ran out in front of car on a busy St. Petersburg Street.
The accident happened around noon Monday.
Police say 10-year-old Marcelo Lynch and two other children were trying to cross 4th Street North near 7th Avenue North. Investigators say they crossed the northbound lanes, then two of the kids stopped in the center lane, but Lynch ran into the southbound lanes.
According to St. Petersburg Police, a driver in the median lane saw Lynch and stopped, but a driver in the curbside lane could not see him, and could not stop when he ran in front of her car.
Lynch was taken to Bayfront Medical Center in critical condition.
Police say no charges have been filed in the accident.
