ST. PETERSBURG - Pinellas deputies have arrested a Dixie Hollins High School student who they say had an assortment of weapons and a ski mask in his car.
They arrested 18-year-old Michael August Volpini.
The arrest came after a citizen called in to report seeing three people with ski masks in a car in the area of the 5200 block of 66th Street.
Police got a good description of the car, and later, a school campus monitor at Dixie Hollins saw the car with a student inside it.
The monitor blocked the car, called the school resource officers, and they detained the student and searched the car.
They found two Chinese throwing stars, a three bladed circular knife and a ski mask.
Volpini told investigators he and two friends had been in the car earlier, "messing around" with ski masks.
Volpini was arrested and is charged with felony possession of weapons on school campus, and taken to the Pinellas County Jail.
