HOMOSASSA - A man was badly injured in a boating accident on the Homosassa River Wednesday night.

Fire Rescue officials say after the 23-year-old fell out of the boat around 8:45 p.m., his legs were run over by the boat's propeller.

Florida Fish and Wildlife has identified the boater as Randy Carroll of Homosassa. He was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital but his condition has not been released.

Fish and Wildlife officials say the three people in the boat were from Homosassa, and Carroll fell out when the driver, 23-year-old Michael Becker, left the controls to turn off a radio.

Neither Becker nor the other passenger, 21-year-old Kyanne Watkins, were injured.

The incident is under investigation.
