NEW PORT RICHEY - If you're looking for a job in Hernando or Pasco County, you could be in luck. As many as 1,000 positions are about to open up.

The U.S. Census Bureau says it needs to fill as many as 1,000 temporary positions in the next couple months, both full-time and part-time.

Jobs will range from field workers to office positions, starting in the first quarter of 2010.

Applicants have to be at least 18 years old and pass a 30-minute test measuring basic math and reading skills.

The pay ranges from $8.50 to $14 an hour.

Jobs are also opening in other counties around the area.
