PASCO COUNTY - The Pasco County Sheriff's Office says there is a tragic end to the search for a missing couple. Lynda McAdams and her boyfriend, William "Ryan" Andrews, disappeared Sunday. Friends and family said it wasn't like them to just vanish. Then, inside McAdams' home in Dade City, detectives found evidence of violence.
"Michael McAdams, the husband of Lynda McAdams, was developed as a person of interest in the disappearance of the pair," said Sheriff Bob White late Friday.
Michael McAdams had moved out of the house to Hernando County. Investigators say he was cooperative when they questioned him the first time. The second time, the Sheriff says McAdams told them he wanted to get it off his chest. He confessed to everything, according to investigators.
"Michael McAdams admitted killing them both in the Palamino Lake home on Sunday night. He also admitted to transporting and burying the bodies in Hernando County."
White says McAdams shot the pair to death. Forensic investigators spent hours inside the house. Neighbors unsure of exactly what happened became very worried.
"When you see forensic vehicles and helicopters flying overhead you start thinking about the worst," neighbor Gary Burge told FOX 13.
Investigators say the McAdams were going through a divorce, but no one saw anything like this coming.
"Lynda told her husband she she wanted a divorce ... there was no indication of violence, no indication that Michael McAdams would react in the way that he reacted," said White.
White says McAdams drove detectives to a remote site in Hernando County where he buried the bodies. Detectives are making sure that crime scene is undisturbed Friday night. Saturday, they will process the scene.
White says Michael McAdams will be charged with murder. He's spending Friday night in the Pasco County Jail.
The McAdams had two daughters together.
