CLEARWATER - Clearwater Police say they have arrested three men who tried to rob a pharmacy Tuesday afternoon and shot a customer in the leg.
Police responded to the Trinity Pharmacy on South Belcher Rd. just before 5 p.m. Tuesday after receiving a call about an armed robbery with shots fired. Officers say that customer Gordon Kendrick, 28, was approached by three men as he exited the pharmacy. One of the men pointed a gun at Kendrick and demanded his prescription medication.
According to police, Kendrick tried to run back into the pharmacy and was shot in the leg. The bullet passed through his leg and went into the pharmacy but no one else was hit. Kendrick, of St. Petersburg, was taken to Morton Plant Hospital and was listed in stable condition.
Officers say they pursued leads throughout the evening and later arrested the shooter, 23-year-old Ryan Holmberg, and charged him with robbery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon as well as several additional charges. Also arrested on robbery charges were Sean Perry, 25, of Clearwater, and Daniel Kane, 31, of Tampa.
