Driver OK after truck flies off I-4

TAMPA - Troopers say a minor crash sent a pickup truck flying off an interstate overpass today.

It was noon when a pickup truck fell 30 feet from an overpass on Interstate 4 into a ditch near 40th Street.

Investigators believe Dustin Simpson clipped another vehicle while he was trying to change lanes on I-4 westbound near the 50th Street on-ramp. The impact caused his truck to hit the retaining wall and then go over it.

The truck landed upright and Simpson was hospitalized with minor injuries, officials said. He was cited for an improper lane change.
