PLANT CITY - The 75th incarnation of the Florida Strawberry Festival is a few weeks away, and a 17-year-old home-schooled future FSU Seminole will be the belle of the ball.
Natalie Burgin was crowned the 2010 Florida Strawberry Festival Queen over the weekend. She was selected by a panel of five judges from a field of 24 contestants in the pageant sponsored by the Plant City Lions Club.
Burgin is a home school junior with plans to attend Florida State University to pursue a degree in international relations. According to the festival, she is an active member of the YMCA Youth in Government, 4H, and is a 'sweetheart' for the American Diabetes Association.
The annual Strawberry Festival runs from March 4 through March 14 this year.
