Cass Street closing until late October

TAMPA - The Cass Street Bridge near downtown Tampa will close on Monday. The current traffic pattern on Cass Street between North Boulevard and Gasparilla Plaza is scheduled to change from a lane closure for each direction to a full closure.

The road is closing for structural repair of Cass Street bridge over the Hillsborough River. Work includes steel replacement, asbestos and lead abatement, painting, and other work.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use Kennedy Boulevard as the detour route.

The Cass Street Bridge is anticipated to reopen in late October.
