TAMPA - More than 1,000 people showed up in Ybor City Thursday to attend a town-hall style meeting on health care and insurance reform.

But the meeting took place where there was only room for about 250 people. As a result, and a large crowd gathered outside, and tensions were high among people who couldn't get in.

Some say they were barred because they are against President Barack Obama's agenda to change the current health insurance system.

But even many who support health care reform said they couldn't get into the meeting room.

Some at the event said that people were selected to come into the meeting through a side door.

FOX 13 asked State Representative Bette Reed about that accusation.

"Two different doors is important in any meeting, at anytime," she said.

The meeting featured U.S. Rep Kathy Castor as a speaker. It was held at the Hillsborough County Children's Board building.

Castor left the meeting early, after several attempts to speak above a shouting crowd.

The room was so packed that when a FOX 13 crew left to do a live shot for the 6 p.m. broadcast, they weren't let back in afterward.
