TAMPA - A manatee rescued off the coast of Palmetto earlier this month is doing much better today.

Doctors at Lowry Park Zoo say the sea cow is showing signs of improvement.

She was spotted in shallow waters off Manatee County on July 10th.

Veterinarians removed some air trapped under one of her shoulders, and say she is acting more normally now that the procedure is done.
