TAMPA - A Tampa family escaped an early morning fire in their home.

It happened at 8613 North 37th Street. Investigators say it started with an electrical malfunction in the back room of the home.

They say one of the people living there turned on some electronics, then fell asleep, and then woke up to smoke and flames.

The house had fire alarms, but the apparently did not go off.

Four people got out okay; the Red Cross is assisting them in finding somewhere to stay.
