TAMPA - Investigators spent Monday afternoon and evening on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, where deputies found a body in the trunk of a car that was on fire, and a man who jumped from the bridge.

Investigators say a call came in around 3:45 p.m. about a male jumper on the bridge. They say a Florida Highway Patrol trooper saw the man jump.

A boater got the man out the water, and performing CPR, but was unsuccessful.

When fire crews put out the car fire, they found a body in the trunk of the car.

Investigators are working to determine the identities of the two people and how they are connected.

Ttraffic was backed up for hours as investigators worked to clear the scene.

The view from SkyFox showed the burned out remains of a car at the top edge of the southbound span of the bridge, and traffic moving slowly across the bridge.

The middle part of the Skyway is technically Hillsborough County, which is why Hillsborough deputies are taking part in the investigation.

The Florida Department of Transportation says there are cameras on top of the bridge, and believe the incident may have been captured on tape.
