FORT MEADE - One person was killed and four others injured in a crash on Highway 98 in Polk County Wednesday morning.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office says five people were traveling west on Highway 98 in a pickup truck when the driver, Frederico Castillo, lost control on a curve. The truck flipped over and hit a tree, ejecting nearly everyone inside.

Felipa Venegas, 59, was killed. Castillo and the other three passengers -- all teenage relatives of  Venegas and Castillo -- were taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center, where deputies say they are expected to recover.

Highway 98 was closed for several hours because of the crash.

Investigators say no one in the truck was wearing a seat belt.
