In the job market, the competition is crowded. Experts say only the top two percent of people who apply for a job will get called for an interview.
"You have to look like you're an exceptional performer, not just better than average," says Robert Meier, director of workforce talent at Tampa Bay Workforce Alliance.
Meier says the first way to separate yourself from the competition is with a great resume. He says the resume should emphasize results you've achieved in previous jobs using numbers, percentages and quantities.
Meier has been helping people write good resumes for nearly 20 years. Now he's created a "resume rater" available on-line.
