SATSUMA - Investigators searching for 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings in Putnam County say they have contacted every sexual offender in the area, and are following more than 300 leads.
Still, there is no sign so far for the missing girl.
The sheriff's office along with the Florida Department of Law
Enforcement have expanded the search area and are
re-interviewing family members, Sheriff Jeff Hardy said
during a news conference Friday morning.
Fifty law enforcement officials and 50 volunteers from Texas EquuSearch are combing areas of thick brush and marshland for any sign of the missing girl.
"We are hoping for a positive outcome," said Major Steve Rose with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
All sex offenders living in the area have been interviewed and their homes have been searched, according to the sheriff's office.
Investigators refused to speculate who may have taken Cummings from her father's mobile home near Satsuma Monday night.
"At this time the world is a suspect, we haven't excluded anybody," Sheriff Hardy said.
Investigators said evidence is being processed at a crime lab, but would not discuss the details.
"The bottom line is we have a 5-year-old girl missing and we don't know where she is," Sheriff Hardy said.
Major Rose said the search would continue through the weekend
with the assistance of EquuSearch.
