TAMPA - Eye doctors have a warning for anyone using special contact lenses as a part of their Halloween costume: it turns out getting that ghostly, spooky look, can cause serious eye problems, long after Halloween weekend.

Doctors say problems can arise if the contacts don't fit properly. They liken it to wearing an ill-fitting pair of shoes: both can cause discomfort and blistering.

And contacts that don't fit right can deprive your eye of oxygen, and allow infection-causing bacteria to grow.

So that's why, even though you can get costume contacts online pretty easily, it is best to get a prescription, and not take chances on injuring your eyes.
