Might divorce be contagious?

People are very impressionable, especially as children. We already know that. Now, research from the University of California says people are more likely to divorce if they have friends and family members who have done so. The study says a person who has a divorced friend has a significantly increased chance of getting divorced themselves. So is divorce really contagious?
