Gator Crawl to help environment

A big event in Polk County this weekend is expected to include lots of fun while helping out the environment.

The inaugural Gator Crawl is being put on by Lakeside Adventures Project EAGLE to raise funds for the groups annual Chain of Lakes cleanup. The organization has lost a lot of its state funding and hopes barbequed gator can bring out the crowds in support.

Aside from the barbequed gator and chicken, extreme water ski shows will be the feature attraction, while raffle prizes including a Chain of Lakes airplane tour and alligator hunting trips will be offered.

The event will be held at Old Man Frank's Bar and Restaurant on Lake Howard Drive in Winter Haven at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 9. For more information, call (863) 291-5662.
