Good Day, Tampa Bay!

I'm Laura Moody. I anchor Good Day Tampa Bay each Monday through Friday morning from 4:30-7:00 a.m. with Tom Curran.

I love being part of the FOX 13 news team! We have the hardest working group of folks in the business, hands down.

In my time here, I have been honored to cover MacDill Air Force Base and the brave men and women who serve our country. I covered the Tampa Bay Rays through one incredible run to the 2008 American League Championship, standing out live in three layers of clothes in snowy Philadelphia right to the bitter end. I also covered the 2008 presidential election, and was there to cover both Sen. John McCain and now-President Barack Obama as they campaigned through our must-win state.

We will have a lot to talk about in the year to come. Health care reform may or may not happen this year, but the debate never dies; the 2010 election primaries are just around the corner, we have a recession from which to rebound, and we will talk a lot about a new home for our Tampa Bay Rays.

I look forward to being with you every morning through it all-- the things big and small that make us the wonderful community we are.

I am a graduate of Florida State University and originally from Alabama.

In 2006, I joined FOX 13 News from Nashville, Tennessee, where I was the weekend anchor for ABC affiliate WKRN. Before that, I worked with New York Times-affiliated 24-hour news network SNN, in Sarasota.

I live in Tampa with my husband and daughter and we are truly blessed.
